Alone, Together

Alone, Together is a series of small paintings that were created by Chelsea and mailed to her best friend and partner Dave during the spring, summer, and fall of 2024 when he was undergoing inpatient treatment for drug and alcohol addiction. Due to the restrictions of Dave’s treatment facility, these letters were their primary form of communication. This collection contains the visual communications between Chelsea and Dave and is a tribute to the positive impact Chelsea and Dave’s 15-year friendship has had on both of their lives, and to their desire not to give up on each other. It is the visual documentation of the accountability, forgiveness, growth, and healing of two individuals and their relationship through art.
